The Great House - Belize City, Belize

This Belizean landmark was built in 1927 by talented local craftsmen and still retains its beauty, grace and charm. Now, this magnificent four-story colonial style residence is probably the largest classic wooden home still in existence in Belize. Originally built as a family home, this wonderful structure still provides the warmth and comfort reminiscent of the early colonial times of Belize. Spacious verandahs at the front and back of the house allow you to relax and let go amidst the soothing embrace of the Caribbean breezes.

The Great House is located only 100 meters from the Caribbean Sea, 12 miles from largest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere, 25 miles from the sights of the Mayan Civilization, and 10 minutes walk from the city center (Directly across the street from the Radisson Hotel).

It is a popular spot with both locals and guests. The bar offers happy hour every Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. and free appetizers are served.
