In these economically challenging times there is still the desire to have a special vacation to a beautiful, friendly country like Costa Rica. In an effort to make a Costa Rica vacation available to as many people as possible, we have added this Economy Index page that brings together the less expensive hotels and tours offered on the oldest and largest Costa Rican tourism site, CentralAmerica.Com.

We have added some new economy hotels with rates for a standard double in the $50 - $100/night range. We selected these hotels based on our experience and constantly monitor feed-back from our clients.

We won’t tell you that a economy hotel room is the same as a $500/night room at the Four Seasons. However, Costa Rica is not a country where you will want to spend a lot of time in your hotel room. The economy hotels we have chosen to recommend are clean, comfortable, and well-managed.

Many of our clients like to mix and match hotels, using the money they saved on economy hotels in some locations to splurge on a moderate or even luxury hotel at another stop. We are also offering some great deals on economy rental cars. Driving is a great way to get to know the country at your own speed. Roads have improved considerably in the last several years so 4-wheel drive vehicles are not necessary for most tourist destinations.
