recently sold-out. Buyers around the world are seizing the opportunity

"We are incredibly excited at buyer demand and enthusiasm about the marina's opening," states project founder Harold Lovelady.

Designed and owned by sportfishing enthusiasts, Marina Pez Vela will

8th Annual Gray International Fly Tournament
January 28-31, 2008
Quepos, Costa Rica
The 8th Annual Gray International Fly-fishing Tournament held in Quepos, Costa Rica was a success once again. The Tournament is hosted by El Gran Escape Restaurant and all proceeds continue to be donated to the Liver Transplant Center for Children in San Jose, Costa Rica. Fishing was good, and we definitely had a lot more action on the water than last year, which was slower than normal due to the "el niño" phenomenon. |
This year we hosted 14 boats and 23 anglers during the 4 day event. There were a total of 142 sailfish and 1 striped marlin released. Jim Stanger and Larry Deddy took home the 1st place team award with a total of 23 sails released aboard the "Swordfish" with Captain Randy Morales. Abraham Concepción won 2nd place team, fishing solo aboard the "Quick Release" with Captain Jeremy Aguero Cubillo and releasing 20 sails, therefore, winning the Bill Barnes Top Angler Award this year. Third place team winners Paul Broome and Jimmy Gallagher released 17 sailfish aboard the "Gamefisher" with Captain Richard Chellemi.

And many thanks to the following organizations and persons for their donations this year and for lending a hand to help make this a success:
