Morpho Butterfly - Surprisingly, the natural color pigment of a Morpho Butterfly’s wings is dull brown. However, the upper surfaces appear a brilliant iridescent blue because of their physical structure: due to the reflective properties of multiple layers of tiny scales only wavelengths in the blue end of the visible spectrum are reflected. |
