Keel-billed Toucan
Keel-billed Toucan- The enormous bill so typical of the toucans such as this Keel-billed Toucan is a surprisingly agile tool that the bird uses with great dexterity when feeding. The structure is hollow but strong and is used with ease to remove small berries from branches or scoop out the pulp of larger fruit. Though toucans feed predominantly on fruit they will sometimes eat small lizards, snakes and even nestlings if they come across an unattended nest.
