The Fonda Vela Hotel has nine
buildings nestled in the landscaped property, all are designed with
natural lighting, privacy and warmth in mind. All have large windows
with views of our forest allowing the beauty outside to be a part of a
cozy interior.
The Fonda Vela has 38 rooms in 9 separate buildings, this includes 18 standard rooms, and 20 junior suites. All rooms have private bath, hot water and 2 queen-size beds or a king size bed. |
| Our junior suites have a small refrigerator, table, king and a queen-size beds, and a comfortable sofa. Television is available in all the junior suites. Telephones are available in all the rooms of the hotel. Most of the rooms are wheelchair accessible. In the case you need one please request it the time you are making your reservation. | ![]() |

Other services include our elegant and spacious restaurant, a separate bar and TV room. Our meeting rooms seat 50 people and have balconies overlooking the forest. We recommend Bobby's slide show every day at 6pm except Fridays revealing "more than meets your eyes of the hidden rainforest" the Quaker's history and Monteverde's nature talk slide show. Cost $5 per person. |
| The Fonda Vela is a ideal hotel for birdwatching. We have more than one kilometer of private hiking trails and are within walking distance of the Monteverde Cloud Forest, the Hummingbird Gallery, the Children's Eternal Rainforest. For night entertainment, we are approximately one Km from the local disco, La Cascada with salsa, merengue and international music for dancing, a place to meet the locals and make friends specially on Friday and Saturday. | ![]() |
