	The tourist who comes to Samoa Lodge will enjoy excursions on the river into the Tortuguero Canals or on the trails into the woods. Whatever the way, it is for sure that will never forget the experiences in this tropical fantasy encounter.

TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK - It is located in the Caribbean region of Costa Rica, 57 miles north of Puerto Limón. One of the reasons for it’s creation, and why it’s considered to be the most important area of the eastern part of the American continent, was the nesting and the protection of the green turtle, this area is the most important place for the nesting of these turtles in the Caribbean.
Furthermore, Tortuguero is actually an area of high importance for its relicts of tropical rainforests, which has covered almost the whole northeastern part of Costa Rica until 5 years ago. But it has become severely threatened by deforestation.

ITINERARY
DAY 1 6:30 - Pick up at San Jose, visit one of the principal coffee plantations and the Braulio Carrillo National Park 8:30 - Costa Rican Breakfast. Visit a pineapple plantation where you'll have a beautiful view of the Turrialba Volcano. Visit a banana plantation. 11.00 - Board the boat that will lead you thru the Tortuguero canals. 12:30 - Check in at the Lodge 12:45 - Lunch 15:00 - Tour to the town, visit the Marin Museum "Caribbean Conservation Corporation" info about the conservation of the Green Turtle (1h 30min) 17:00 - Back to the Lodge 19:00 - Dinner DAY 2 6:00 - Morning Tour, visit the secondary canals of Tortuguero National Park (2hours) 8:00 - Back to the Lodge and breakfast 12:00 - Lunch 15:00 - Walk thru the trail Gavilán or Tortuguero (2hours) 17:00 - Back to the Lodge 19:00 - Dinner DAY 3 7:00 - Breakfast 13:00 - Lunch 16:00 / 20:00 (According to operation) - Arrive to San José *2 DAYS / 1 NIGHT PACKAGE will board the boat back to San Jose on the Day 2 at 9:00 am
