RIO REVENTAZON EL CARMEN SECTION (CLASS II)
Enjoy the safest whitewater rafting in Costa Rica, our new Class II+ section on the Reventazón river will provide you with the thrill of rafting, get you wet but keep you safely in your boat.
This trip is designed for people of all ages as we paddle together on the wide-open waters of the river through small waves with little maneuvering. As you progress down river the pools become longer where you can rest and observe a number of birds in their tropical habitat.
We will be on the river between 1 to 2 hours depending on water levels and taking out at the Chiquita brand banana plantations. Return to our operations center for lunch.
Note: This tour will be run with the same equipment and safety regulations as we use on our Class III and above tours. The rapids for Class II+ have very little inherent risk and allow us to invite participants from 7 years old to 99.
RIO REVENTAZON FLORIDA SECTION (CLASS
III) - Reventazon Day tour and Reventazon PM
This section of the mighty Reventazón River is some of the fastest and best 10 miles of Class III rapids you'll ever paddle! If you're a first-time or experienced
peddler looking for the excitement of big waves, hydraulics, and stunning scenery, then this trip is for you.
The drive from San Jose takes you through the impressive Braulio Carrillo National Park, past rainforest and waterfalls across the Continental Divide to the Caribbean side of the country.
At our Operations Center you will have breakfast, there are bathrooms, changing rooms and an area to buy last minute needs. After your safety orientation, the first rapid of the day will set the pace for more to come. As your raft rounds each new bend in this dam-controlled river, you'll be greeted with yet another breathtaking view of the Reventazón Valley. Look for toucans, kingfishers, herons, tanagers, iguanas and bright green "Jesus Christ" lizards.
After a fun and exhilarating day of big waves, hydraulics and stunning scenery, you'll finish your trip with a stop at our Operations Center for a delicious hot lunch, showers, optional drinks and souvenir store before the return drive to San José. PASCUA SECTION (CLASS IV)
If you're ready for BIG water, the Pascua section of the Reventazón will challenge the most adventurous spirit with rapids by the names of "North Sea," "Horrendito" and "Indigestion." For those who have paddled with us before, this trip is a must!
Non-stop thrills and action await you as you plunge through twists, turns and drops down 15 miles of intense, challenging rapids. This is an exciting, scenic trip for rafters with experience. All participants must be in good physical condition and ready to remain active all day.
After this action packed rafting section, you'll finish your trip with a stop at our Operations Center for a delicious hot lunch, showers, optional drinks and souvenir store before the return drive to San José.
RIO PACUARE (CLASS III-IV) The Pacuare
River is one of the top five rafting rivers in the world for its scenery and
rapids. This quintessential tropical river is a trip of pure magic, unsurpassed
beauty, wildlife and exhilarating rapids. Located on Costa Rica's Atlantic
slope, the Pacuare River borders the Talamanca mountain range, home to native
Cabecar Indians and an incredible variety of wildlife. After an early morning
pickup from your San José hotel, you will drive by private, comfortable bus to
our Operations Center for a delicious, typical Costa Rican breakfast. Once at
the river at our private put-in, you'll raft 16 miles deep in the heart of
densely vegetated gorges, past gushing waterfalls, serene pools and pounding
rapids, in one of Costa Rica's most impressive primary rainforests. On the river
you will raft by Ríos Tropicales Lodge, where guests stay on two and three-day
trips. Intimate and charming, the lodge blends naturally into the forest on our
1,000-acre private reserve, with waterfalls and pools. After an
adrenaline-packed afternoon running rapids like Upper and Lower Huacas,
Cimarron, Dos Montanas and many more, after we finish, a short drive to Ríos
Tropicales Operations Center for a hearty and delicious lunch, showers, optional
drinks and souvenir store. On the return drive to San José, you'll enjoy
remarkable views of Braulio Carrillo National Park and Irazú Volcano. This
unforgettable trip will easily be a highlight of your stay in Costa Rica!
RIO COROBICI (CLASS I-II)
This classic float trip is perfect for any client, especially birdwatchers and nature lovers. The scenery and wildlife along the Corobicí are legendary. As you leisurely raft along this tranquil river, you might spot one of the more than 300 species of birds from the nearby Palo Verde National Park. Among the more commonly seen birds are ospreys, kingfishers, cormorants, and blue, tiger and boat-billed herons. Other wildlife in the area includes otters, howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys, iguanas and many other types of lizards. A delicious native-style lunch will be served at La Pacifica resort after you finish rafting.
This is the calmest rafting trip in Costa Rica, suitable for everyone from children to the elderly, and is a must in combination with your additional tours to Guanacaste beaches or
Monteverde.

RIO SARAPIQUI (CLASS III)
This stunning rainforest river is an excellent choice for a first rafting trip in Costa Rica. The lush vegetation and thick tree canopy along the narrow, winding river are home to toucans, cormorants, kingfishers, howler monkeys, hummingbirds and much more.
After being picked up in the early morning from your hotel in San José, you will drive by private, comfortable, air-conditioned bus to a local restaurant for a delicious, typical Costa Rican breakfast. On the way to the river, you'll pass by majestic La Paz waterfall and rolling, verdant fields of coffee, papayas and ferns.
Upon arrival to Río Sarapiquí, your friendly and professional guides will outfit you with lifejackets, helmets and paddles and give you a safety orientation for the river. Rafting down the Sarapiquí, you can expect beautiful, clear water flowing down from Poas Volcano. You'll have fun going through exciting rapids interspersed with tranquil pools, and taking in the stunning tropical forest scenery. During the trip, you'll stop to enjoy a picnic lunch and swimming.
After finishing rafting, you'll enjoy the relaxing beauty of the Selva Verde restaurant and lodge where you can shower and change clothes. On the return drive to San José, you'll pass through Braulio Carrillo National Park and past Irazu
