Itinerary
Day 1: ARRIVE - Arrive San Jose Airport Take hotel shuttle to the Best Western Irazu. Overnight in San Jose at Hotel Irazu or similar.
Day 2 - 3: ARENAL VOLCANO - Your air conditioned Daihatsu Bego 4X4 (or similar) will be delivered to the hotel the following morning, and you're off to Volcan Arenal, one of the most active volcanos in the world. En route you will pass through Zarcero, famous for the sculpted bushes surrounding its picturesque church. Option: Going a few miles out of your way you can also visit Sarchí, home of Costa Rica's traditional brightly painted ox carts and a great stop for buying beautiful items made of Costa Rican hardwoods. Overnight at Arenal Springs
Day 4 - 6: TAMARINDO - After taking the scenic drive around Lake Arenal you arrive at Playa Tamarindo, where you will have three glorious days to relax on the beach, at 5 minute walk from the Jardin del Eden. This refined boutique hotel is set in the heart of the village, nevertheless you will feel lost away from the civilization in the most ravishing tropical garden where elegance is the master word. Do not miss the exquisite cuisine from their Peruvian chef who will make you forget everything you knew about cooking!
Day 7: SAN JOSE - After relaxing on the beach you return to San José. The scenic drive up the Pan American highway passes coffee and sugar plantations, volcanic mountains and the unique Brahman cattle that form an ever-changing panorama. Your vehicle will be picked up at the hotel. Overnight in San Jose at Hotel Irazu or similar.
Day 8: DEPARTURE - Hotel shuttle to the International Airport to check in 3 hours before your scheduled flight home.
