The Irazu Hotel is on the west side of San Jose. Located right on the Pan-American highway, you can head for Arenal without having to navigate downown San Jose and it is easy to find when you are returning.

The Hotel Villas Gaia is your home base on the Southern Pacific Coast with a convenient access to Ballena Marine National Park, Caņo Island Biological Reserve, Corcovado National Park, waterfalls, coastal rainforest, deserted beaches, typical villages and much more.

 

Tours

 

Be a witness of the abundant wildlife along the shores. Our trip will start looking for some of the 5 species of Dolphins, Whales and/or possibly the Sea Turtles that inhabit these waters. Your guide will illustrate the trip with interesting facts about these fascinating mammals and their Natural History.

After arriving at the Caño Island Biological Reserve we will snorkel for an hour in the crystal clear waters, followed by a tasty picnic lunch. Along the beautiful coast we'll keep an eye out for Dolphins as well as Humpback, Pilot and Whales.

Itinerary

Note: Remember these tours can be adjusted to your choices. Add or delete a day, substitute a different day tour or drop the day tours and just kick back. We can customise any package to fit you.

Day 1: ARRIVE - Upon your arrival at the San Jose International Airport, a van will transfer you to the Best Western Irazu where you will spend the first night in a Premier room.

Day 2: Dominical Beach - After breakfast, your SUV vehicle will be delivered to the hotel. Don’t spend any more time in the city and hit the road to the beach! After 4 hours driving through the mountains, you will get to the area of the Ballena (Whale) Marine National Park. And now begins your 5 night stay in a "Casita" with A/C at Hotel Villas Gaia.

Day 3: Dominical Beach - You know what to do: beach, sun, relax and discover!

Day 4: Dominical Beach - Today, enjoy this amazing Whale & Dolphins Watching tour! If you are lucky enough, you might be able to hear the whales’ chanting.

Day 5: Dominical Beach - Remember Day 3? The same! Your tan needs some work: everyone must be jealous back at the office!

Day 6: Dominical Beach - On the Snorkeling at Caño Island tour, you will swim with sea turtles, barracudas, trumpet fish and many other species.

Day 7: Dominical Beach - After a last dip in the Pacific Ocean, as hard as it is, you have to drive back to San Jose to spend your last night at the BW Irazu.

Day 8: DEPARTURE - After dropping off the car at the airport, you will fly back home full of memories, but most of all with the promise you will be back!.
