CentralAmerica.Com Discount Car Rentals

CentralAmerica.Com Costa Rica offers special discounted prices when the car rental is part of your custom vacation package. The following rates are not always available, particularly in peak vacation times such as Christmas and Easter Weeks. If we are unable to find the vehicle you want at our special prices, we will shop for the best price available on that type vehicle from one of the several reliable rent-a-car companies we work with regularly. We will of course confirm any price difference with you before booking the reservation.

Insurance: Costa Rica requires that you have insurance with any car rental. The rates below include the standard insurance which all Costa Rican rental car companies charge. (This varies from $12 to $20 per day depending on the company and type of car.) Unlike the US, most rental car companies in Costa Rica will not accept the coverage provided by some credit cards. The restrictive nature of this type coverage (not insured on unpaved roads for instance) does not lend itself to Costa Rica. The standard coverage included in the rates below is $750 - $1,000 deductible and you must have room on a major credit card to leave that amount as a deposit.

FREE GPS only from CentralAmerica.Com
Driving through Costa Rica allows you to enjoy the beauty of the country but can be confusing as roads are often not well marked. We have received rave reviews from clients that have utilized the GPS system. However, it is an added charge of $6 to $10 per day from every company in Costa Rica. Since we don't want our clients getting lost we are offering FREE GPS to anyone who books their vacation package of $1,500 or more thru our Vacation Planning pages. Be sure and let your CentralAmerica.Com travel adviser know if you want to take advantage of this offer.

2010 Specials !! Until Dec 14, 2010
Suzuki Grand Vitara II $315
Mitsubishi Montero Sport
5 passengers
$389
Daihatsu Bego - 4x4 $270
Suzuki Jimny - Full time 4WD $230

All these vehicles come with air conditioning, AM-FM radio cassette tape player and unlimited mileage (* 3 day minimum on daily rentals). Government mandated insurance included in all prices.
4 Wheel Drive
While not all destinations in Costa Rica require 4 wheel drive. We recommend 4 wheel drive for most travelers. It is not that you will need to use the four wheel drive often, it is that these vehicles have a higher ground clearance and heavier suspension system which is beneficial. Although Costa Rican roads have improved over the last several years, large potholes are not unusual. Paying for undercarriage damage can quickly cancel any cost saving from renting a standard car.
