| Car Rental Insurance: Costa Rica requires that you have insurance with any car rental. The rates do not include the standard insurance. (This varies from $12 to $20 per day depending on the company and type of car.) Unlike the US, most rental car companies in Costa Rica will not accept the coverage provided by some credit cards therefore check with your respective credit card company before your arrival. . The standard coverage is $750 - $1,000 deductible and you must have room on a major credit card to leave that amount as a deposit. |
