All accommodations are designed with special care of the surrounding landscape and have spectacular views of mountains and/or lagoons. Televisions and refrigerators may be available upon request.

The Selva Negra Mountain Resort has many Lodging Options to offer the visitor: Fourteen hotel style rooms with front porches, Nineteen bungalows of varying size, Four larger, slightly more modern chalets.

Hotel Style Rooms: Most of the rooms can easily accommodate up to four people. The average room contains two single beds, one double bed, bathroom, and small front porch. The rooms are located in two separate complexes. The Karen complex consists of 4 rooms. The Laguna (lagoon) complex consists of 20 rooms. Please refer to the lodging map for the location of the complexes.

Bungalows: All bungalows are individual buildings and have a living room, front porch and varying number of bedrooms. Each bungalow enjoys a view of the virgin mountain protected by the resort.

One bedroom bungalows are convenient for couples; they provide a cozy and private environment. These bungalows consist of a bedroom (queen size bed), bathroom, small living room, and small private porch with a couple of chairs to enjoy the view.

Two bedroom bungalows are convenient for small families and can easily accommodate 4 people. They are equipped with two bedrooms, a shared bathroom, living room, and small private porch with a couple of chairs to enjoy the view. The master bedroom contains a queen size bed, the other bedroom contains two single beds.

The resort also has 3 three bedroom bungalows. They are most convenient for larger families and/or groups since they can easily accommodate up to 6 people. They are equipped with three bedrooms, one / two bathrooms, large living room, dining area, and fireplaces. The master bedroom contains a queen size bed, the other two bedroom contains two single beds each.

Chalets: The resort also offers a few chalets that due to their size, location and/or history deserve a class of their own.

The Alsacia Chalet is an ideal accommodation for visitors interested in the coffee production. It is located adjacent to the Beneficio (Coffee Processing Mill) and allows easier access to the coffee facilities.

The Bösche Chalet is the original old farm house of La Hammonia. It was built in 1893 by Mr. Hans Bösche (original German immigrant). It stands on the banks of a lagoon and is one of the first views while entering the resort. The chalet contains five bedrooms and large living room, large dining room, fireplace, and a beautiful deck overhanging on the lagoon.

Located up the hill from a lagoon. The Gretel chalet is more isolated than most other cabins and has an unforgettable view of the mountains and the lagoon. It has a small brook running by it's side which provides optimal background music. This chalet consists of a two story building built on a hill so that it may be entered from both the first and second floor. The first floor contains a cozy living room with a fireplace and a sizable front porch. The second floor contains three bedrooms, bathroom, living room, and back porch. The master bedroom contains a queen size bed, the other two bedrooms contain two single beds each.

Viejo Otto Chalet was the first building constructed by the Kühls. The chalet has a wonderful view of both the mountain and the lagoon. It stands at the same lagoon as the restaurant. Viejo Otto is a best fit for large groups since it contains 5 bedrooms on a two and a half story building. The first floor contains a fireplace, large living room, large dining room, family area, bathroom, and master bedroom (queen size bed), as well as a front and back porch. The second floor contains four bedrooms each with two single beds, a bathroom, and a front and back balcony. The top floor consists of a mezzanine as a dormer attic with three single beds.

Food in the Mountains

The Selva Negra Mountain Resort offers restaurant services at a central building within easy access of all bungalows. It is located on one of the resort's lagoons and offers a large deck with a wonderful view of both the mountain and the lagoon. At the restaurant you may choose from a wide variety of both local and international foods, including authentic German cuisine. Full bar services are also available where you will find international as well as local liquors and beer. The restaurant offers a buffet every Sunday from 12:00p.m. to 4:00p.m.
