| Our excursions are especially designed for the individual tourist or group wanting to enjoy a one-day or half-day tour of one of Nicaragua’s many tour destinations. They feature Nicaraguan culture and tradition, live plants and animals, volcanology, sightseeing, still and video photography, shopping, and visiting native art exhibits. Our tour-guide will accompany you throughout your day and deliver the secrets of each destination. Unless specified otherwise, each excursion departs daily. |

| The oldest city in the Americas, Granada, was founded in 1524 by the conquistador Hernández de Cordoba. once the business and shipping capital for the entire region. Today, after having been rebuilt numerous times, Granada proudly remains one of the last truly colonial cities. On this excursion, we will tour the Casa de los Leones, San Francisco Convent and Museum, the colorful market, the charming cobblestone streets, and numerous architecturally significant churches. Following our walking tour, we’ll embark on a boat tour of Granada’s famous Isletas, a chain of inhabited islands just off the shore of lake Nicaragua which are the remnants of aged volcanic activity. - Recommended gear: comfortable walking shoes and light clothing | ![]() |

| This is an unforgettable day in rural Nicaragua. We begin by visiting the stunning and active Santiago crater and museum situated in the Masaya National Park, followed by a trip to Nicaragua’s most popular open-air crafts market located in Masaya and a lunch time sampling of traditional food (bocadillos). | León and León Viejo & San Jacinto Hot Springs | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

On the way to the historic and former capital city of
León, we will pass beautiful views of Lake Managua, the
impressive Momotombo volcano, and much of Nicaragua's agriculture
heartland. While in León, we will enjoy the attraction of this
cultural city, its many churches, monuments, markets, and learn about
its rich history, including its most famous former resident
Rubén Darío, Father of Nicaraguan poetry. After
enjoying a pleasant walk through the colonial streets, we will enjoy
our lunch at a typical restaurant. On our way back to our
departure point, we will stop at the well known San Jacinto hot springs
to observe the active volcanic phenomena of the “boiling
soil”, located on the foot of the Telica-Rota volcanic chain. |

| Nicaragua' s shopping is tremendous !! Handicrafts are one of the important industries of the country and variety of products is extensive. From the famous hammocks from Masaya, the pottery of San Juan de Oriente, the wood carvings, the leather goods, the of primitivism painting or the handmade cigars, the visitor will not only have the opportunity to buy at excellent prices, but also to enjoy meeting the artists. On this day, we will bring you to the popular market of Masaya, the antique market, the town of San Juan de Oriente or, depending on the interests of the visitor, to the most interesting place in Managua : the Roberto Huembes Market. | ![]() |

| During this half-day excursion we will see evidence of the 1972 earthquake on old Managua, as well as the emerging new capital that is growing rapidly. We will visit both the old and new Cathedrals, Lakes Managua and Xiloa, tour the recently renovated National Palace, home to Nicaragua's culture museum, and visit a thriving market. This tour presents the dramatic difference between the rich and the poor. Political propaganda can be seen everywhere. Managua, Nicaragua's capital, with more than 1/3 of the country’s population is a city that’s alive, growing rapidly, and shows the visitors daily life in an unforgettable way. - Recommended gear: light, comfortable clothing | ![]() |

| The Mombacho Cloud Forest and Canopy Tour | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| We will start our day by visiting the mysterious
Mombacho Volcano Natural Reserve. Here we will enjoy impressive and
unique fauna and flora of the area. After this visit we will continue
our day stopping by the "Canopy" installations. After receiving our
gear and carefully listening to the instructions about our next
exciting tour, we will begin to glide safely between the 15 platforms
located in the tree tops. During our trip, we will enjoy at the same
time of the forest, coffee plantations, great surrounding panoramic
views and have lots of fun!! Recommended gear: hiking or solid tennis shoes, light clothing, rain jacket and drinking water. |

| The Cerro Negro and hot Springs of San Jacinto / Las Peñitas | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Born in 1850, the Cerro Negro volcano ( Black mountain ) is one of the youngest volcanoes in the world. During the last 9 years it's violent activity has left permanent marks on the region. In 1992, lava ash completely covered León, the second largest city of Nicaragua. The las eruption was in August 199, when two new craters were formed. Hiking the lunar landscape of the volcano, descending it's crater, and admiring the surrounding landscape are an unforgettable and exciting experience. Middle to good physical condition is required by all participants. This tour will be combined with a visit to the San Jacinto boiling soils, testimony of the large and constant activity of the area OR a lunch stop at the Pacific beach of Las Peñitas where we will enjoy a succulent fresh fish front of the ocean - Recommended gear: solid hiking shoes, sun protection, drinking water. | ![]() |

| One Day on Ometepe | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The early start in the morning will certainly to
be compensated by this full day excursion, exploring the world biggest
volcanic island in a fresh water lake. We will drive first to the little port of San Jorge and enjoy a one hour smooth ferruy ride on the great Lake Nicaragua. At Moyogalpa, Ometepe's main town, we will continue our trip by land passing several villages, observing the rural daily life of the inhabitants with sceneries reminiscent of the middle age!!. At Altagracia, we will stop, visit the museum and learn about the rich Pre-Columbian past of the island, major encounter place by the Indian tribes. At Playa Santo Domingo we will have a delicious meal served in front of this huge extension, second biggest lake in Latin America. In the afternoon, on the way back to Moyogalpa, we will stop at the legendary "Charco Verde" and observe some of the rich bird life of the area. | Islands of Zapatera and region | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The island of Zapatera is the second largest located in the
Great Lake of Nicaragua and it’s famous for its rich
pre-Columbian history and archeological findings. This region was the
meeting point and the exchange place of many Indian tribes traveling
throughout Central and South America. Starting from the "Isletas" of
Granada, this tour combines the visit to the pre-Columbian sites of
“Muerto Island”, a refreshing bath in the waters of the
great lake and a hike by the Zapatera lagoon, discovering at the same
time the rustic rural life of this remote region of Nicaragua. |
