| Before arriving at Corn Island to enjoy P#6, we will make a stopover in Nicaragua’s historic port city Bluefields. Named after the famous pirate Blauwvelt, a Dutchman who sacked the town in the 1600’s, somehow Bluefields has managed to retain its character in this modern world. Maybe because its only connection to the outside world is by its local waterways and the sleepy airport. There are no roads connecting this port town to the rest of Nicaragua. The culture and people here are unique to Nicaragua. |
